People are not 70kg rats
In drug safety tests, using one species to represent another doesn’t work. We must replace animal tests with 21st-century science.
Ban cosmetics testing on animals now!
The EU has banned animal testing for cosmetics, but is only slowly validating new testing methods. We must prioritize funds, improve the validation process, and introduce toxicogenomics for testing.
For a strong REACH
REACH, the EU chemical testing program to protect health and the environment, uses animal-based methods that are scientifically outdated and irrelevant. REACH can be challenged and reformed.
Cancer Test
Toxicogenomics is a rapid, cost-effective way to test the toxic effects—including cancer—of chemicals. We are conducting a study of widely-used chemicals and will bring the findings to the EU ombudsman as a call for introducing toxicogenomics.
Danger, Bisphenol!
Despite its widespread use (such as in babies’ dummies), Bisphenol A’s chemical structure suggests that it’s a medium- and long-term danger. BPA should be banned.
